Offers styled message boards loaded with tons of features including password protection, read-only boards, ability for members to register, and so much more.
ProBoards is the most over rated forum host there is. Poor Support. They force the updates usually at the cost of your forum. They are not fully customisable unless you can write Javascript and make your own web interface. Just to resize the forum you have to have a code. As mentioned 'uptime' stinks. Bottom of the barrel. For kids.
ProBoards is the best forum service out there. Support is great! Many features, many mods. Fully customizable. Easy to change colors. And the URL of the forum you make isn't hard to remember, unlike others. Others have name.server.website.com when this one is only name.website.com.
Free, but terrible service. They put our three forums on a server that was scheduled for a major upgrade 24 hours later. Several days later, the upgrade is incomplete and the server is down. Constant bandwidth problems, rude support personnel issuing "warnings" for simply asking about the upgrade schedule, which was not updated. Looks like mostly kids stuff on these boards - not appropriate at all for professionals or businesspeople.
There must lot of conscientious effort involved to accomplish such a user friendly system that offers so much. Their prompt and friendly support is by far the best I have seen in my 8 years of using the internet to gather information and research.
